Our Executive Team

Gordon Laschinger,
Chief Executive Officer

Gordon Laschinger serves as Chairman, President and CEO of Northern Ethanol Inc. Mr. Laschinger assumed his position as our CEO and President in April 2006 and was named Chairman of our Board of Directors in June 2006. Mr. Laschinger also acts as CEO and President of Northern Granite Energy, Inc., a developmental stage company that intends to engage in the oil and gas business.

From 1997 through February 2006, Mr. Laschinger was Vice President – Investments of J.J. Barnicke Limited, Toronto, Canada. During his tenure J.J. Barnicke was recognized as Canada’s largest independently owned, full service commercial real estate services company. Headquartered in Toronto, the firm has over 20 full service offices across Canada. In addition to his role at Northern Ethanol, Mr. Laschinger is also Chairman of William Osler Health Centre, the largest community hospital in Ontario, Canada.

Steven Reader
Chief Operating Officer and VP Development

Mr. Reader's career includes over fifteen years in contracted energy services with TransCanada Energy and DTE Energy Services. He has also been heavily involved in the development of energy projects in both Canada and the United States. His efforts have culminated in over $2 billion worth of successful projects in the past five years. Mr. Reader holds a degree in Economics from the University of Winnipeg, and a degree in Industrial Plant Design & Management from the University of British Columbia.

Richard Smith
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Smith is responsible for Northern Ethanol's financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting and forecasting, tax planning and compliance. Mr. Smith has served as Chief Financial Officer for the past 20 years with companies involved in manufacturing, distribution and service. He has extensive public company experience with NASDAQ and TSX listed businesses as well as with private entities. Prior to joining Northern Ethanol, he was the Chief Financial Officer of AMJ Campbell Inc, the largest residential, commercial and international moving and storage company in Canada. Mr. Smith graduated from the University of Toronto in 1982 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He received his Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 1985.

Natalie Horrell
Director, Corporate Relations

Ms. Horrell is responsible for press media relations, industry media relations, publications, marketing and education activities. She also works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer/VP Development. Prior to joining Northern Ethanol, Ms. Horrell had over fifteen years of management experience in the banking and financial services sector. Her experience ranges from department management to sales and interdepartmental communications. Programs she was instrumental in developing are used everyday in a major Canadian bank.

Gord Langille
Director of Project Management

Mr. Langille's career includes over twenty-five years in the natural gas transmission and power generation industry. While at TransCanada Energy, as Director of Commercial Operations he was instrumental in the management of a 560 Megawatt Project with a budget in excess of 600 million dollars. His on going responsibilities included developing operating and maintenance philosophies, startup budgets, operations and maintenance budgets for new plants under development and under construction. He has extensive experience in negotiating of commercial agreements include: engineering, construction, project letters of intent, equipment, service, cogeneration, biomass material supply, power purchase, operating and transportation agreements. Mr. Langille holds a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology - Engineering Technologist from DeVry Institute of Technology.
